News Wicked Offers Actors' Fund Performance March 28 The company of Stephen Schwartz's Wicked will offer a performance this month to benefit the Actors' Fund of America.

The March 28 performance of the hit new musical at the Gershwin Theatre will benefit the non-profit organization. Tickets, priced at $50, $70 and $100, are now available by calling (212) 221-7300, ext. 133. For more information visit www.actorsfund.org. Wicked, which officially opened Oct. 30, 2003, stars Idina Menzel as Elphaba, the Wicked Witch of the West and Tony Award winner Kristin Chenoweth as Glinda. The cast also includes Tony and Academy Award winner Joel Grey as The Wizard, Norbert Leo Butz as Fiyero, Carole Shelley as Madame Morrible, Michelle Federer as Nessarose, Christopher Fitzgerald as Boq and William Youmans as Doctor Dillamand. The original cast recording is available on the Decca Broadway label.

With a score by Stephen Schwartz, a book by Winnie Holzman and direction by Joe Mantello — a 2003 Tony Award winner for last season’s Take Me OutWicked features choreography by Wayne Cilento. The Gershwin Theatre is located at 222 West 51st Street.

The Actors' Fund, which was founded in 1882, is a non-profit organization that provides for the social welfare of all entertainment professionals. Some of the many programs The Actors' Fund provides include a nursing home and assisted living care facility; senior and disabled programs; mental health services; chemical dependency services; entertainment industry assistance programs; the Phyllis Newman Women's Health Initiative; the AIDS Initiative; and supportive housing on both coasts.
