News Wicked Star Enters the "Broadway Spotlight" in January Michelle Federer, who portrays Nessarose in the hit Stephen Schwartz musical Wicked, will go it solo at the Ars Nova Jan. 10, 2005.

Federer will be the latest to enter the "Broadway Spotlight," the acclaimed series that features Broadway performers in a concert setting. Show time is 9 PM.

Jesse Tyler Ferguson, who will star in the upcoming William Finn musical The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, kicked off the third season of the "Broadway Spotlight" series Oct. 4. Another Wicked cast member, Megan Hilty, will perform Nov. 1; she will be followed by Avenue Q's Barrett Foa, who will take to the intimate stage of the Ars Nova Dec. 6.

Previous "Broadway Spotlight" concerts have spotlighted the talents of Avenue Q's Ann Harada and John Tartaglia, Dance of the Vampires' Max von Essen, Les Miz’s Lauren Kennedy, Hairspray's Shoshana Bean, Into the Woods' Chad Kimball, Aida's Felicia Finley, Rent's Anthony Rapp, Wicked's Idina Menzel and Funny Girl’s Leslie Kritzer.

Michelle Federer is currently making her Broadway debut in Wicked. She appeared in the Lincoln Center Theater production of A Man of No Importance and was also seen Off-Broadway in In the Absence of Spring. Her regional credits include Compleat Female Stage Beauty, Water Children, The Trip to Bountiful, Hay Fever and Closer.
