News Wicked's Chenoweth Likely for "Bewitched" Film Kristin Chenoweth, a current Tony nominee for her role as Glinda in the hit new musical Wicked, will likely co-star in feature-film adaptation of the classic TV series "Bewitched."

The Hollywood Reporter says that the Tony-winning singer-actress is currently in negotiations to play Marie, the nosey next-door neighbor to witch Samantha, who will be played by Academy Award winner Nicole Kidman. Elizabeth Montgomery created the role of the nimble-nosed witch in the 1964-1972 TV series. The film will co-star Will Ferrell, Shirley MacLaine and Michael Caine.

Chenoweth who is scheduled to make her solo Carnegie Hall concert debut (Sept. 10), her silver-screen musical debut ("Asphalt Beach") and her first studio acting bow ("Pink Panther"). Chenoweth will depart her Wicked role after her contract is finished, July 18.

Kristin Chenoweth made her New York theatrical debut opposite Bill Irwin in a production of Molière's Scapin and followed that with a role in Kander and Ebb's Steel Pier. Roles in Off-Broadway's A New Brain and the City Center Encores! productions of Strike Up the Band and On a Clear Day You Can See Forever ensued. She won her Tony for her performance as Sally Brown in the Broadway bow of You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown.
