News Wicked's Reiber to Host July 21 New Voices Concert Julie Reiber, who is the Elphaba standby in the Broadway production of Wicked, will host the July 21 Monday Nights, New Voices concert at the Duplex Cabaret Theatre.

The "Ladies Night" will celebrate the work of Katie Thompson. Thompson will accompany the "New Voices" — including Alison Bonelli, Kayleigh Erickson, Mara Jill Herman, Marian Torres and Elizabeth Urbanczyk — on selections from her songbook. Show time is 7 PM.

Barbara Anselmi will be the evening's musical director and will also accompany the singers on piano.

On Broadway Julie Reiber has been seen in Wicked, Brooklyn and All Shook Up. She has also appeared in the tours of Rent, Brooklyn and Jekyll & Hyde.

Katie Thompson has appeared in The Ark and The Forgotten Carols as well as in the readings of Giant and Piece. As a songwriter, Thompson was nominated for a Pearl Award, an Indie Award and a MAC Award. Her debut CD is titled "What I've Done Right."

The New Voices series was founded by composer Scott Alan to "showcase some of today's brightest new talent in New York." Alan's debut recording, "Dreaming Wide Awake" — which features performances by Liz Callaway, Stephanie J. Block, Eden Espinosa, Cheyenne Jackson and Jonathan Groff, among others — is available by visiting www.scottalan.net. The Duplex Cabaret Theatre is located in Manhattan at 61 Christopher Street.
