News Wilkes to Star in The Who's Tommy at Cardiff Festival Jonathan Wilkes, whose theatrical credits include U.K. productions of Godspell, The Rocky Horror Show and Grease, will star in the title role of The Who's Tommy at the Cardiff International Festival of Musical Theatre.

A spokesperson for the Festival confirmed Wilkes' casting; no other casting has been announced. Tommy will play the Festival's New Theatre April 11-16. The Cardiff engagement is part of the upcoming U.K. tour of Tommy, which begins Feb. 16 at the Birmingham Hippodrome and continues through summer 2005. In addition to his onstage credits, Wilkes is also known for his television work, which includes "The Match," "You've Been Framed" and "Love on a Saturday Night." The Cardiff Festival will also present Cole Porter's Kiss Me, Kate March 29-April 16. The production at the Wales Millennium Centre will feature Craig Urbani as Frederic, Julie Alanah Brighten as Lilli Vanessi, David Sellings as Bill Calhoun and Michelle Francis as Lois Lane.

Another highlight of the Festival is a concert version of Chess, scheduled for April 2 at St. David's Hall. No casting has been announced for the one-night-only presentation of the Benny Andersson-Bjorn Ulvaeus-Tim Rice musical.
