News Wilkinson's Broadway & Beyond Concert Tour to Begin in October Colm Wilkinson, who created the role of Jean Valjean in the original London and Broadway productions of Les Misérables, will launch a concert tour of Canadian cities October 6.

Entitled Colm Wilkinson: Broadway & Beyond, the tour will begin Oct. 6 and 7 at the Rebecca Cohn Auditorium in Halifax, NS. Wilkinson will also play stops in Charlottetown, St. John's, Montreal, Ottawa, Windsor, Kitchener, Brampton, Thunder Bay, Winnipeg, Calgary, Edmonton, Saskatoon, Victoria, Vancouver and Regina.

The tour, which is being produced by Garth Drabinsky and Robert Topol, will feature songs from the worlds of theatre and popular music. Wilkinson will premiere the concert July 22 in Dublin at Ireland's National Concert Hall.

Nov. 6 at the Royal Theatre in Victoria, BC
Nov. 9 at the Vancouver Centre for Performing Arts in Vancouver, BC

For his performance as Jean Valjean in the international hit Les Misérables, Colm Wilkinson earned a Laurence Olivier nomination and Tony and Drama Desk nominations. He also won the Helen Hayes Award, the Outer Critics Circle Award and a Theatre World Award for that performance. During Andrew Lloyd Webber's annual Sydmonton Festival, he created the role of The Phantom in The Phantom of the Opera, a part he later played in the Toronto production to much acclaim. Wilkinson also created the role of Che for the original concept recording of Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice's Evita and has performed in major concert halls throughout the world. His first solo recording was entitled "Stage Heroes." Ticket prices and on-sale dates will be announced shortly.
