An official announcement of the project has not been made, though Streisand did discuss it with the Los Angeles Times in recent weeks. "It's about a woman ahead of her time. It's just a fascinating story that is very relevant to today," Streisand told the L.A. Times.
Streisand's upcoming projects include her Brooklyn concerts this October at the Barclays Center, as well as a film remake of "Gypsy," in which she will star as Rose.
