The New York Post reports that Rosie O'Donnell, who spent a much-in-the-news year as a co-host of the long-running program, is being courted to return to the table, which, as of now, only features Oscar winner Whoopi Goldberg. Stage and screen star Mario Cantone, a frequent presence on "The View," may become a regular host as well.

The New York daily also reports that three-time Tony winner Bernadette Peters and Tony-winning If/Then star Idina Menzel are also being considered as rotating hosts in an effort to bring more performances to the talk show.

Peters has made several appearances over the years on "The View," even serenading host/creator Walters with an a cappella version of "In Buddy's Eyes." The acclaimed singing actress was also a regular fill-in host on ABC's "Live with Regis and Kelly."

A representative for ABC told The Post, "Any specific names at this point are rumor and speculation. No decision has been made, and we are not ready to make any announcements."
