News Will Forte Joins Cast of Rock of Ages Film; Fans Invited to Be Part of July 18 Filming Will Forte, of "Saturday Night Live" fame, has joined the cast of the Warner Bros./New Line feature film Rock of Ages, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The actor, who will be seen in the fall in "A Good Old Fashioned Orgy," will play the role of Mitch Miley in the movie musical. Miley, a role not in the Broadway musical, is the head anchor for a network news program.

Adam Shankman directs and choreographs the star-studded Warner Bros./New Line feature that is currently in production in Miami and is scheduled to arrive in movie theatres around the country June 1, 2012.

Director Shankman is also inviting fans of the musical to be part of a July 18 filming of a concert scene for the film, which will be shot in Fort Lauderdale, FL. A notice on the film's Facebook page reads, "Come and bring your friends to all be extras (16 years and older only please), and join us on the 'Rock of Ages' set, and rock out like it’s 1987 with our cast to the sounds of such hits as 'Wanted: Dead Or Alive' & 'Don’t Stop Believin’.'" "Rock of Ages" also stars Malin Akerman as Constance, Russell Brand as Lonny, Diego González Boneta as Drew, Alec Baldwin as Dennis, Julianne Hough as Sherrie Christian, Mary J. Blige as Justice, Paul Giamatti as the manager of the rock band, Bryan Cranston as The Mayor and Tony winner Catherine Zeta-Jones as the wife of the mayor.

The musical, which uses hits from the 1980s as its score, premiered Off-Broadway at New World Stages in October 2008 and transferred to the Brooks Atkinson Theatre on Broadway in March 2009. Rock of Ages earned five Tony nominations including Best Musical, Best Direction, and Best Actor for Constantine Maroulis. The production is currently playing at the Helen Hayes Theatre.
