PlayBlog Will Idina Menzel Do the Wicked Film The "Avatar" Way? Idina Menzel sat down with MTV News recently to discuss her idea for how to film her Tony Award-winning triumph, Wicked. Menzel says that, while plans to film the Oz-set smash hit are still in the works, they are on hold while the stage production continues its worldwide success. So, to avoid the problem of Menzel and her original co-star, Kristin Chenoweth, being too old when the time comes to film it, why not go the “Avatar” route and use special effects to play up the green (and the Glinda sparkles) and play down the wrinkles?


Menzel also talks about her recurring guest appearance on “Glee,” including what she said when she met Chris Colfer (who memorably performed her Wicked anthem, “Defying Gravity,” with Broadway vet Lea Michele on the hit Fox series).
