News Will Oscar Winners Rush and Sarandon Star in Broadway Revival of Exit the King? The New York Post reports that a star-filled revival of Eugene Ionesco's Exit the King is heading to Broadway this spring.

Geoffrey Rush, who won an Academy Award for his performance in Shine, will join fellow Oscar winner Susan Sarandon for the New York production, which will likely play the Barrymore, currently the home of the acclaimed revival of Speed-the-Plow.

The New York daily says Australian director Neil Armfield will helm the production. Armfield also directed Exit the King last year at the Belvoir St. Theatre in Sydney. That production also cast Oscar winner Rush in the title role.

Exit the King will play a limited engagement of 20 weeks, according to the Post.

No official announcement about the play or its cast has been made.

Geoffrey Rush won an Oscar for his work in Shine and was also nominated for his performances in Quills and Shakespeare in Love. Exit in Love would mark Rush's Broadway bow.

Susan Sarandon won her Academy Award for her role in Dead Man Walking and also garnered Oscar nominations for Atlantic City, Thelma & Louise, Lorenzo's Oil and The Client. She made her Broadway debut in 1972 in the short-lived An Evening With Richard Nixon and...
