News Will Success Spoil Rock Hunter? Makes NYC Return in Midtown Fest On July 18, the Midtown International Theatre Festival will offer New Yorkers a chance to catch the revival of George Axelrod's 1955 satire Will Success Spoil Rock Hunter?

According to press notes, Will Success Spoil Rock Hunter? centers around "a novice reporter [who] gets more than he bargained for when he interviews silver screen sex goddess Rita Marlowe." Axelrod's 1955 satire hasn't been seen on Broadway since its original run.

The MITF production, produced by Wildcat Theatricals, will feature Maria Teresa Creasey, Ed Crescimanni, Ryan Cross, Jennifer Danielle, Nick Mannix, Tuck Milligan, Eric Rubbe and Morgan Sills.

The design team is comprised of Maria Zamansky (costumes), Anne Goelz (set design, props mistress), Jana Hoglund (sound design) and Leah Loukas (hair design). Holly-Anne Ruggiero directs.

Playwright George Axelrod's credits include The Seven Year Itch and Goodbye Charlie. His directing work includes …Rock Hunter?, Once More with Feeling and The Star-Spangled Girl. In addition to his work for the stage, Axelrod penned the screenplays for "Bus Stop", "The Manchurian Candidate" and the Academy Award nominated screenplay for "Breakfast at Tiffany's."

* Now in its eighth year, the Midtown International Theatre Festival was created to offer an opportunity for productions and performances that might otherwise not be seen by as broad an audience as possible. Since its inception, the MITF has presented over 300 different works.

Other works slated to take part in the festival include: Love and Israel, Patriot Acts, Stray Dog Hearts, Take Me America, Twist, A Line in the Sand, WEBEIME, Those Whistling Lads: The Poems and Short Stories of Dorothy Parker, La Tosca! A New Melodramatic Comedy, among others.
