William Michals will make his first solo concert appearance on Sunday, Aug. 19 at the Nyack Seaport Center for Cultural Events in Nyack, NY. Michals will be joined by special guest Rita Harvey for this evening of popular and Broadway tunes. Neil Berg serves as Musical Director for the event.

William Michals has appeared in numerous touring musicals and opera productions. He made his Broadway debut as the title in Disney’s Beauty and the Beast and later went to play the role of Gaston in the same production. Michals’ more recent roles have included Hugh Hendon in the Radio City Music Hall reading of Neil Berg’s The Prince and The Pauper and Chauvelin in the national tour of The Scarlet Pimpernel.

Rita Harvey made her Broadway debut as Christine Daae in The Phantom of The Opera after two years of performing the role with the national tour. In addition to a number of acting credits, she has also been a featured soloist in numerous concerts across the United States, appearing alongside the likes of Betty Buckley, Michael Crawford, Robert Evan and Ben Vereen.

Musical Director Berg is an up-and-coming composer. He has written several shows, including The Prince and The Pauper, which was recently picked up for development by Madison Square Garden. He has also produced concerts worldwide, showcasing the talents of Broadway stars, such as Betty Buckley, Ben Vereen, Michael Crawford, Brian Stokes Mitchell and Douglas Sills.

William Michals performs in concert Aug. 19 at 7:30 PM at the Nyack Seaport Center for Cultural Events, located at 21 Burd Street in Nyack, NY. For tickets, which cost $35, call the box office at 845-348-3134. —by Esther Sapan
