The Florida run of Jewtopia resumes performances Nov. 9 after damages incurred from Hurricane Wilma shut down the show.

Patrons who purchased tickets for any of the canceled performances, Oct. 26-Nov. 8, should call the Broward Stage Door box office at (954) 344-7765 to reschedule for an available performance.

"After such a horrible hurricane season, I think we could all use a good laugh and the Jewtopia family is ready to deliver," said producer Bill Franzblau in a release. "Electricity and phone lines were only just restored to the theatre earlier this week. Most of the damages to the theatre have been cosmetic, so we're bringing in a crew of Jewish mothers to come in, straighten up, wipe the water off of the slip-covers and ready the house for company on the 9th."

Jewtopia follows the story of two single guys — a Jew and a gentile — on the verge of turning 30 who are obsessed with dating women of the other's religion. The two devise a plan to help both their causes — the Jewish man's quest to make his family happy and the gentile's mission to find a Jewish girl so he never needs to make another decision.

John Tillinger (Say Goodnight, Gracie) directed the Bryan Fogel and Sam Wolfson comedy, Jewtopia, which began sold out its premiere run in Los Angeles in 2003 before moving to Off-Broadway in 2004 — where it still currently runs.

Jewtopia has also played a regional productions in Chicago and plans are in the works for Philadelphia, Toronto and Tel Aviv stagings and a 26-city North American tour in March of 2006. Warner Books will publish "Jewtopia: The Book" in July 2006. The design team of Jewtopia includes Patrick Fahey (set), Mike Baldassari (lighting), Cynthia Nordstrom (costume) and Kevin Lacy (sound).

Tickets to Jewtopia at The Broward Stage Door, 8036 West Sample Rd. Coral Springs, FL are available by calling (954) 344-7765. For more information, visit www.jewtopiaplay.com.
