Winner of Broadway Idol Competition Will Be Announced at Final Concert Oct. 5

News   Winner of Broadway Idol Competition Will Be Announced at Final Concert Oct. 5
Auri Marcus, George Psomas and Isabel Santiago compete in the final round of Broadway Idol at 11 PM at Stitch Bar and Lounge on Oct. 5.

Hosted by Andrea McArdle, the final competition, entitled "Star to Be," will feature each contestant singing two songs — one from pre-Oklahoma! Broadway and another from the post-Hair Broadway catalogue. They will be critiqued by celebrity judges: 110 in the Shade director Lonny Price, Sweeney Todd's Manoel Felciano and Avenue Q's Stephanie D'Abruzzo.

During last week's competition, the three finalists were narrowed down as Rent's Anthony Rapp, 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee's Jose Llana and Lennon's Mandy Gonzales offered feedback to the contestants performing Broadway pop/rock tunes.

Immediately following the final concert on Oct. 5, audience members will text-message their vote for their favorite performers. Tonight, one of the three contestants will earn not only the title of Broadway Idol, but also a solo concert produced and presented at Ars Nova.

The Broadway Idol Competition takes place at Stitch Bar and Lounge, located in Manhattan at 247 West 37th Street. Admission is $10, which includes one drink ticket.
