It was written in French in 1994 by French playwright Yasmina Reza and won the Molière Award for Best Play. It was translated in 1996 into English by British playwright Christopher Hampton and won London's Olivier Award for Best Comedy. It then opened on Broadway in 1998 at the Royale Theatre and won the Tony Award for Best Play.

Now the multi-award-winning Art makes its way to middle America at Wisconsin's Peninsula Players Theatre, Sept. 7 - Oct. 8. The Reza play will close out the theater's season.

Todd Schmidt helms the comedy about three men whose friendship is put in question over the purchase of an all-white canvas painting. The argument turns from focusing on art to studying friendship itself. The cast of three torn chums are Bradley Mott, Tom Mula, and Greg Vinkler.

Speaking of art, handling the designing of this show are Sarah Eckert with sets, Rachel Healy with costumes, and B. Emil Boulos with lights.
