Stars, newcomers, character actors, understudies -- all are equally important in weaving the fabric that is new York theatre. Exploring the range of actors on and Off-Broadway will be the topic of the New York public television show, "City Arts," which devotes a special hour-long edition, March 26, to "Working Actors." Though the documentary will offer interviews with Cherry Jones, B.D. Wong, Anthony LaPaglia, Swoosie Kurtz, Brian Dennehy, Edie Falco, Matthew Broderick and Audra McDonald, the show will also look at such lesser-known or rising talents as Mary Hammett (understudy in Killer Joe), neophytes Laura Allen and James Yaegashi, and Bryan Hull, who's played the Old Actor in The Fantasticks for 19 years -- and counting.

"Working Actor" will air on NY's Channel 13 March 26 at 10 PM.
