The production was scheduled to play the Filene Center Aug. 22-25.

According to the Wolf Trap website, refund information follows: "If you purchased tickets to this show and/or the members-only Dinner on the Deck, refunds will be automatically processed over the next 3 weeks. If you purchased your tickets with a credit card, your card will be credited with your refund. If tickets were purchased by check, cash, or gift certificate, you will receive a refund check by mail. Please contact Wolf Trap Ticket Services at (703) 255-1868 to verify your address."

Although actress Holliday had posted on Twitter that the Theater of the Stars production of Dreamgirls, which is scheduled for Aug. 2-11, had also been canceled, a spokesperson for the Atlanta venue said that is not the case.

In a statement vice president/general manager Brian D. Frey told Playbill.com, "Theater of the Stars is currently engaged in our 'Save Theater of the Stars' campaign. Theater of the Stars has every intention to produce the remainder of our season, including Dreamgirls. Dreamgirls is not cancelled in Atlanta, Ga. … Please see our website at www.theaterofthestars.com for more information on the campaign and how you can donate."

Tony winner Holiday is still scheduled to be part of that production, according to Frey. A native of Houston, Jennifer Holliday made her professional New York theatre debut in 1980 in the revival of Your Arms Too Short to Box With God. That role led to her Tony-winning performance in Dreamgirls, and her rendition of that show's "And I Am Telling You I'm Not Going" earned the singer-actress her first Grammy Award. She has also appeared on Broadway in the revivals of Grease! and Chicago, and her television credits include "Ellen," "Touched By an Angel" and a recurring role on "Ally McBeal." Holliday earned another Grammy Award for her recording of Duke Ellington's "Come Sunday."

Dreamgirls debuted on Broadway at the Imperial Theatre in December 1981. The musical, directed by Michael Bennett, earned 11 Tony Award nominations in 1982 and took home six, including Best Book, Best Choreography, Best Lighting and a host of acting honors.
