The 75-minute, multimedia "musical pandemonium" — adapted from Neil Gaiman and Dave McKean's best-selling book of the same name — was conceived for the stage by National Theatre of Scotland artistic director Vicky Featherstone, musician Nick Powell and Improbable's Julian Crouch. The production, according to press notes, is described as "spooky fun for adults and children alike. . . . This comic-book-scary story makes you laugh, shriek and watch the shadows a little more closely. [The work features] captivating live music, luminous video projections, and eerily lifelike puppets."
The Wolves in the Walls was named the Best Show for Children and Young People at the 2006 TMA Awards in the U.K. The first tour sold-out engagements in Glasgow, Scotland and London.
