Perhaps it was the curse of The Woman in Black. Keith Baxter, currently starring as Arthur Kipps in the spooky thriller involving a ghost seeking revenge, felt a bit of her ire when he took a plunge from the Minetta Lane Theatre's stage near the finish of the June 20 evening performance.

Baxter was taken to St. Vincent's hospital and released that evening after doctors performed several tests. According to a spokesperson at Bill Evans & Associates, Baxter is doing fine and will be in tonight's performance, June 21 performance.

Baxter is the second actor of note in the last month to find himself making an unplanned exit. Legendary actress Uta Hagen fell from the Geffen stage May 30 during a performance of the world premiere staging of Six Dance Lessons in Six Weeks in Los Angeles. Hagen too recovered quickly and resumed performances the following day.
