Allen is also in pre-production for a yet-untitled forthcoming 2016 film that will star Jesse Eisenberg, Bruce Willis and Kristen Stewart.
No plot details were available for the project (as is customary for Allen), who returned to Hollywood after his Broadway musical Bullets Over Broadway experienced only a brief run in 2014.
The prolific Allen has written and directed more than 50 films, including adaptations of his Broadway hits Don't Drink the Water and Play It Again, Sam. His most recent Broadway work was the libretto to the 2014 musical Bullets Over Broadway.
