Wopat, who starred as Butler on Broadway in the recent revival of the Irving Berlin classic, is a favorite at the historic old barn near Kalamazoo. This is the company's 57th summer of shows under the producer Jack Ragotzy. Annie Get Your Gun plays June 25-July 7 in a season of eight productions.
Also part of the season is an edition of the annual Music! Music! Music! cabaret show featuring the songs of lyricist Scott Burkell (also an acting regular at the Barn) and composer Paul Loesel, whose urbane musical, Six of One, had a Manhattan reading and won a grant from the Jonathan Larson Foundation. The evening opens the season May 28-June 9.
The Barn Theatre season also includes Caught in the Net (June 11-23), Little Shop of Horrors (July 9 21), Footloose (July 23-Aug. 4), Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat (Aug. 6-18), True West (Aug. 20-Sept. 1) and The Rocky Horror Show (Sept. 3-8).
