News Works By Dinelaris and Saroyan Comprise American Rapture, Beginning Feb. 14 American Rapture, an evening of short plays by Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright William Saroyan and Drama Desk nominee Alex Dinelaris, will begin performances at the Beckett Theatre Feb. 14.

Dinelaris (Red Dog Howl, Zanna Don't!) will direct the engagement that pairs his own world-premiere plays – including Spin Cycle, Juggling Jaqueline and Rain – with Saroyan's Hello Out There. Presented by Oberon Theatre Ensemble, American Rapture will continue through March 1.

American Rapture is described as "an evening of short plays, some humorous, some tragic, [that] explore the unique mixture of loneliness and hope, which make up the American Experience." The evening culminates with Saroyan's Hello Out There, a tale of "two outcasts who find love at the most unlikely of times, in the most unlikely of places."

The cast will feature Jane Cortney, Brad Fryman, Vince Gatton, William Laney, Dianna Martin, Donovan Patton, Laura Siner, Max Darwin, Christine Verleny and Stewart Walker.

American Rapture has scenic design by Kathryn Veillette and lighting design by Jessica Hinkle.

Tickets, priced $20, are available by phoning (212) 279-4200 or by visiting TicketCentral.com. The Beckett Theatre is located at 410 West 42nd Street in Manhattan.
