News World Premiere of City Of, Set "Somewhere in Paris," Begins Today The world-premiere production of Anton Dudley's City Of, a story of four Americans in Paris, begins performances Off-Broadway Jan. 28.

Presented by The Playwrights Realm, City Of will officially open Feb. 5 and continue through Feb. 21 at the Peter Jay Sharp Theater.

The cast includes Suzanne Bertish (Machinal) as Eleanor, Colby Minifie (Punk Rock) as Cammie, Devin Norik (Unnatural Acts) as Dash, Steven Rattazzi (Galileo) as Actor, Jon Norman Schneider (The Oldest Boy) as Claude and Cheryl Stern (La Cage aux Folles) as Actress. Stephen Brackett (Buyer & Cellar) directs.

"Somewhere in Paris, on a rainy night, a gargoyle falls in love with a pigeon, the ghost of Paul Verlaine recites poetry for passersby, and large glasses of emerald green absinthe are poured and consumed," press notes state. "Somewhere in Paris, on a rainy night, four Americans, lost and lonely, discover that their lives and their dreams are intertwined in ways they'd never imagined."

City Of is The Playwrights Realm’s inaugural Alumni Production, which is dedicated to mounting new works by playwrights who have already been produced by the company.

The design team for City Of includes Cameron Anderson (scenic design), Paul Carey (costume design), Brian Tovar (lighting design), Matt Hubbs (sound design) and Anna Demenkoff (props design). Megan Schwarz Dickert is the production stage manager. Casting is by Paul Davis, Calleri Casting.
