News World Premiere of Little Mac, Little Mac, You're the Very Man! Begins April 3 in NYC Horse Trade Theater Group presents the Less Than Rent Theatre world-premiere production of Little Mac, Little Mac, You're the Very Man!, written by Sean Patrick Monahan and James Presson, April 3-27 at The Kraine Theater.

Directed by Charlie Polinger, the piece features original music by Alexander Sage Oyen.

LTR company member Tom Sanchez stars as Mac alongside Cory Asinofsky, Ben Diserens, Rachel B Joyce, Alex Kramer, Matthew George, Sarah Daniels, Joe Flynn, Brittany N. Williams, Anthony Vaughn Merchant, Jillian Rorrer, Eugenio Vargas and Lance Lemon.

Little Mac, Little Mac, You're the Very Man!, according to press notes, "is based on Bertolt Brecht and Kurt Weill's The Threepenny Opera, resetting its antihero, the renowned outlaw Macheath, in the Wild West on the run from the local oil tycoon, Mr. Peachum, and his henchman, Sheriff Lockit. The long arm of the law pursues Little Mac across the country, and through a hodgepodge of American history and culture. Along the way, he encounters familiar faces including Al Gore and Al Capone, Ronald Reagan and Ronald McDonald, and Lucille Ball and her buddy Ethel (Rosenberg). Rounding out the story of the outlaw — and the eighty-five memorable characters he meets — is a musical score that pays homage to the classic American songbook. Part spaghetti Western, part political satire, and part film-noir, Little Mac is a heartwarming tale about money, capitalism, and money."

Oyen's musicals include Outlaws (book by James Presson), Moment by Moment, Money$hot (book by Presson) and Sidekicks. His other projects include the emo-rock mystery musical Immaculate Hearts (book by Presson) and Fat Kid Rules the World (based on a book by KL Going). Writer Monhan's credits include Diva, High Upon the Gallows Tree, Though Soft You Tread Above Me, The Morality Play, A Semi Staged Reading of a Play Called 6B, The Verse Play, The Front Porch Play and Thank You, Fifteen.
