100 Saints You Should Know will kick off the company's 15th season May 20. The play by Kate Fodor is about "a priest who must reconcile his desires with his role in the church, a teenage boy confused about his own sexual identity, and a young woman desperate for spiritual validation," according to press notes. Directed by Lindsay Allbaugh, the production will run through June 26 at the Elephant Space. The world premiere of Kristina Poe's Love Sick will follow, and will be presented in partnership with New York City's LAByrinth Theater Company. Described as "a graphic tale following one woman's dark and comic quest for revenge," Elephant co-artistic director David Fofi is set to direct. Love Sick will begin performances on Sept. 9 and run through Oct. 16 at the Elephant Space.
Tennessee Williams' Baby Doll will close the season and will be a co-production of the Elephant Theatre and Double A Productions. The play is "an effort to decode modern sexual politics; it is also a timely rehashing of the familiar struggle of America’s 'everyman'"; Joel Daavid will direct. The production runs Nov. 11-Dec. 14 at the Lillian Theatre.
The Elephant Space is located at 6322 Santa Monica Boulevard, and the Lillian Theatre is located at 1076 Lillian Way, both in Los Angeles, CA. For more information and tickets, call (877) 369-9112 or visit www.elephanttheatrecompany.com.
