Chicago’s Gift Theatre is set to host the world premiere of Tracy Letts' new short play during its annual season kick-off festival TEN2019, held January 10–20.

The Tony winner's piece, titled The Old Country, is ten minutes long and directed by BJ Jones. The cast will include Richard Henzel, Steve Pringle, and Lindsay Stock. Letts, a Pulitzer Prize winner for his drama August: Osage County, is set to return to the stage himself in the upcoming Broadway revival of All My Sons opposite Annette Bening.

As the name suggests, the TEN2019 Festival showcases ten short play world premieres—each ten minutes long. Productions were created by the Gift Theatre or guest artists, curated by Artistic Director Michael Patrick Thornton and Associate Artistic Directors Paul D'Addario and Emjoy Gavino.

In addition to The Old Country, this year's festival will include Philip Dawkins' On a Scale, Nicole Zimmerer's You Never Told Me That, Charlene James' Sparrow, Danny Bernardo's Not You, E. Napoletano's A Moment of Your Time, Rammel Chan's Chuppah Chaps, and Thornton's The Dizzying Endless Expanse.

Tickets are free to Gift Theatre members and $10 to the general public. For more information, visit TheGiftTheatre.org.
