Tony nominee John Herrera (The Mystery of Edwin Drood, Man of La Mancha, Off-Broadway's In the Heights) stars as Long John Silver in the new musical adaptation based on the 1883 Robert Louis Stevenson adventure novel.
Treasure Island: A Musical Adventure features a score by Marc Robin, with book and lyrics by Robin and Curt Dale Clark. Robin, a 16-time Jefferson Award winner, also directs the Fulton staging.
The musical follows the "fatherless Jim Hawkins who embarks on an epic adventure of discovery, daring and double crosses, as Jim matches wits with Long John Silver, the leader of the mutinous crew of the Hispaniola," according to production notes.
Joining Herrera for the world premiere are Dale Bensen as Squire Trelawney; Curt Dale Clark as Dr. Livesey; Charles Abbott as Ben Gunn; John Charles Kelly as Captain Smollett; Dwelvan David as Billy Bones; and Rick Desloge and Dan Scott, who alternate in the role of Jim Hawkins.
The ensemble comprises Christopher Dickerson as Tom Morgan, Randall Frizado as Redruth, William Hartery as George Merry, Erik Hogan as Mr. McCladry, Joe Jackson as Mr. Joyce, Matthew Kernisky as Israel Hands, Adam Levinskas as Abraham Gray, Robert Rokicki as Mr. Alan, Zak Rissinger as Mr. O'Brien, George Andrew Wolff as Mr. Arrow and Hal Yudoff as Mr. Hunter. Rounding out the creative team are Robert Klingelhoffer (set design), Paul Black (lighting design), Beth Dunkleberger (costume design), Anthony Laskoskie Jr. (make-up and wig design), John Bellamo (fight choreography), Debra Dunlop (properties) and David Tempe (sound design).
