News World War II-Era Metamorphoses Named Best at Edinburgh Fringe; Will Play Flea Theater An innovative new adaptation of Ovid's Metamorphoses, which is set in World War II-era Britain and mixes live music, video and puppetry with live performance, received the Carol Tambor Best of Edinburgh Award Aug. 27, at the closing ceremonies of the Edinburgh Festival Fringe.

Peter Bramley adapted and directed this new Metamorhposes, which is performed by his London-based company Pants on Fire. Lucy Egger contributed original music.

According to the New York Times, the Tambor Award is designed to allow for a New York production of a work in the Festival. This year's award covers expenses for a three-week production of Metamorphoses at New York's Flea Theater.
