News WOR's Celebrate America Concert to Feature Wopat, Morton, Love and Broadway Casts WOR Radio's second annual Celebrate America concert will be held June 25 at the Hofstra University Arena in Hempstead, NY.

Co-hosted by Ed Walsh and Donna Hanover — of "The WOR Morning Show" — the concert will feature a special salute to Broadway with performances from such shows as Jersey Boys, Beauty and the Beast, Chicago, The Color Purple, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, The Light in the Piazza, The Lion King, Avenue Q, Rent and Sweeney Todd. Off-Broadway musicals will also be represented, including cast members from Altar Boyz and I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change. Also lending their talents to the event will be Euan Morton, Tom Wopat, Darlene Love, Daniel Rodriguez and John and Bucky Pizzarelli.

Celebrate America, according to press notes, is a "non-partisan, day-long extravaganza of exciting entertainment for the whole family. In addition to showcasing Broadway, a truly American institution, [the day] honors the heart and enduring patriotic spirit of every American."

Ellis Henican and Lynne White will also co-host part of the day-long event, and special appearances will be made by Joan Hamburg, Tyler Florence, Dr. Joy Browne, Bill O'Reilly, Dr. Ronald Hoffman and Joey Reynolds.

Ticket sales will benefit Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS.
