After a run at Southern Rep in New Orleans, afterlife will officially open Jan. 23 for a run through Feb. 6 at New Rep. Afterlife was initially developed as part of New Rep's New Voices @ New Rep series.

Kate Warner directs a cast including Marianna Bassham (Danielle), Georgia Lyman (The Seamstress), Karl Baker Olson (Young Man), Thomas Piper (Connor),
Dale Place (Black Bird/Postman) and
Adrienne Krstansky (The Proprietress).

Here's how New Rep bills the play: "An approaching storm forces a young married couple to come home to their empty beach house and batten down the hatches. When a giant wave comes crashing over them, they tumble into an alternate reality where both must confront the ghosts that haunt them and decide what their afterlife will be."

Afterlife has scenic design by Cristina Todesco, costume design by Frances Nelson McSherry, lighting design by Karen Parsons, sound design by David Remedios and prop design by Lauren Duffy.
