Call this the season of "same" name shows: No sooner have the respective Wild Partys become clear when another set of identical titles is announced -- Proof and Proof. Though both new shows are being staged, keeping the two separate may be easier since one Proof is a drama and the other Proof is a musical.

Described as a musical about life and math, Proof was a collaborative work, written by Joanne Sydney Lessner (book and lyrics) and Joshua Rosenblum (music and lyrics).

As reported earlier, David Auburn's Proof, the drama, will begin previews at the Manhattan Theatre Club on May 2. That production will feature Larry Bryggman, Johanna Day, Ben Shenkman and Mary-Louise Parker.

In the reading of Lessner and Rosenblum's musical, F. Paul Driscoll will direct cast members Tom Beckett, David de Jong, Jonathan Rabb, Chris Thompson, Christianne Tisdale, Barbara Walsh and Carrie Wilhusen. Admission is free. The York Theatre Company is located at St. Peter's, Citicorp Center, 619 Lexington Avenue, at 54th Street. For reservations call (212) 935-5824, ext. 24.
