Yorkey, who penned book and lyrics for Next to Normal, will oversee the reading of the musical that was initially developed at the Village Theatre in Issaquah, WA. Yorkey previously served as associate artistic director for the Village and most recently staged its production of Neil Simon's Lost in Yonkers.

Stunt Girl has a score by David Friedman ("Listen to My Heart," "Help Is On the Way") and book and lyrics by Peter Kellogg (Anna Karenina). The musical originated as part of the Village Theatre's Festival of New Musicals in 2005 and 2006 and received a full production there in 2009.

The cast will be headed by Mara Davi as Nellie Blye with Next to Normal's Louis Hobson as Arthur Brisbane opposite John Patrick Lowrie as Joseph Pulitzer. Lowrie performed the role in the 2008 production, while Hobson participated in 2005 readings. R.J. Tancioco will serve as music director.

The Village previously described Stunt Girl this way: "Before tabloid television, before the paparazzi, back when the news business was new...she was the original sensation. Nellie Bly was a groundbreaking investigative journalist, an intrepid world traveler, and a captain of industry — all in a time before America gave women the right to vote. Bridging the years from the turn of the twentieth century to the First World War, this remarkable woman comes to tuneful life in the rollicking new musical Stunt Girl, a fast and funny account of her life and loves, her hopes and heartbreak, and her fascinating times."

The Village Theatre is where Yorkey originally developed his Tony-winning musical Next to Normal with composer Tom Kitt, under the working title Feeling Electric. The Village devotes a portion of its seasonal programming to nurturing new musicals through the Village Originals series. For more information visit VillageTheatre.
