News You Won't Succeed On Broadway: Spamalot Pierce Appears on "Live with Regis & Kelly," April 20 David Hyde Pierce — who currently sings why "You Won't Succeed On Broadway" to King Arthur and his Roundtable clan in the new Broadway musical Monty Python's Spamalot — will appear on ABC's "Live with Regis and Kelly" April 20 at 9 AM (ET). Check local listings.

Portraying the "Brave Sir Robin" among other roles in Spamalot, Pierce has previously appeared on the Broadway stage in Beyond Therapy and The Heidi Chronicles. The actor known for his three-time, Emmy Award-winning turn as Dr. Niles Crane on "Frasier" has also appeared in the films "Down With Love," "Isn't She Great," "Sleepless in Seattle," and in voice on "A Bug’s Life" and "Osmosis Jones."

Monty Python's Spamalot features a new score, co-composed by Eric Idle and John Du Prez ("A Fish Called Wanda"), and a libretto "lovingly ripped-off" from the screenplay of "Monty Python and the Holy Grail." The original screenplay was co written with Monty Python creators Graham Chapman, John Cleese, Terry Gilliam, Idle, Terry Jones and Michael Palin.

Mike Nichols ("The Graduate," "Angels in America") directs the new musical inspired by the 1975 feature film comedy which landed at Broadway's Shubert Theatre Feb. 14 for a March 17 opening.

Spamalot tells the tale of King Arthur and his Knights of the Round Table on their quest for the Holy Grail. The show boasts "a chorus line of dancing divas and knights, flatulent Frenchmen, killer rabbits and one legless knight who create unforgettable musical production." Creator Eric Idle, in the show's announcement, promises it will be "as good as or quite likely better than any other show with killer rabbits and a legless knight opening on Broadway this season.”

The new musical stars Tim Curry (The Rocky Horror Show, "Clue") as King Arthur, David Hyde Pierce ("Frasier," The Heidi Chronicles) as Sir Robin, Hank Azaria ("The Birdcage," Sexual Perversity in Chicago) as Sir Lancelot, Christopher Seiber (Into The Woods) as Sir Galahad, Michael McGrath (Wonderful Town) as Patsy et al., Steve Rosen (The Golem) as Sir Bedevere and Sara Ramirez (A Class Act) as The Lady of the Lake.
