News Young Jean Lee's We're Gonna Die to Play LCT3's Claire Tow Theater Obie Award-winning playwright Young Jean Lee will bring her solo song cycle We're Gonna Die to Lincoln Center Theater's Claire Tow Theater for a limited four-performance engagement in September.

The Claire Tow, which serves as the home of Lincoln Center Theater's new works-initiative LCT3, will host the production from Sept. 12-15. Lee won a 2011 Obie Award for the darkly comic piece, which premiered at Joe's Pub in 2011 as part of the 13P playwrights collective.

We're Gonna Die is written and performed by Lee, with music by the band Future Wife, choreography by Faye Driscoll and direction by Paul Lazar. Future Wife consists of musicians Mike Hanf, Andrew Hoepfner, Nick Jenkins and Ben Kupstas.

The piece is billed as a "life-affirming show about the thing everyone has in common: WE'RE GONNA DIE. You may be miserable, but you won't be alone."

Lee is currently under commission from Lincoln Center Theater, Playwrights Horizons and the Oregon Shakespeare Festival. She serves as artistic director of the Young Jean Lee Theatre Company, and has directed the plays The Shipment; Church; Pullman, WA; Songs of the Dragons Flying to Heaven; The Appeal; and Groundwork of Metaphysic Morals. Her adaptation of Lear played an extended run at Soho Rep in 2010.
