Young Vic's A View From the Bridge Opens at West End's Wyndham's Theatre Tonight, Starring Mark Strong | Playbill

News Young Vic's A View From the Bridge Opens at West End's Wyndham's Theatre Tonight, Starring Mark Strong Ivo van Hove's production of Arthur Miller's A View from the Bridge, which played a sold-out season at London's Young Vic Theatre in 2014, officially opens at the West End's Wyndham's Theatre Feb. 16 following previews that began Feb. 11 for a limited eight-week run through April 11.

Mark Strong reprises his starring performance as longshoreman Eddie Carbone, who welcomes his Sicilian cousins to the land of freedom. But when one of them falls for his beautiful niece, they discover that freedom comes at a price. Eddie's jealous mistrust exposes a deep, unspeakable secret – one that drives him to commit the ultimate betrayal. Strong won the Critics' Circle Theatre Award for Best Actor for this performance.

Strong is joined by fellow original cast members Emun Elliott as Marco, Phoebe Fox as Catherine, Michael Gould as Alfieri, Luke Norris as Rodolpho and Nicola Walker as Beatrice.

In a press statement, Young Vic artistic director David Lan commented, "Our Young Vic audiences were in no doubt that this is truly the production of a lifetime. I am thrilled so many more people will share this exceptional experience. We’re delighted to be playing in the West End for the third year in a row, welcoming new audiences to the style and ambition of the Young Vic."

The Young Vic also transferred A Doll's House to the Duke of York's in 2013 and is currently also represented in the West End by its transfer of The Scottsboro Boys at the Garrick Theatre, which runs to Feb. 21.
