Scott Hicks ("Shine") will direct the Warner Bros. release, which follows a Marine and Iraq war veteran (Efron) who sets out to find a woman (Schilling) whose photograph he has carried throughout the war, and whom he has never met.
In addition to the "High School Musical" franchise and "Hairpsray," Efron has appeared on screen in "Charlie St. Cloud" and "Me and Orson Welles."
Schilling appeared in the Bard SummerScape production of Uncle Vanya. Best known for the TV medical series "Mercy," she will appear in the upcoming film version of the Ayn Rand novel "Atlas Shrugged."
