News Zach Grenier, Ann Harada, Javier Muñoz and Patrick Breen Join Casts of Powerhouse Readings Michael Esper, Ann Harada, Javier Munoz, Patrick Breen and Annie Golden have been cast in the second set of new play and musical readings presented as part of the New York Stage and Film and Vassar College's 2011 Powerhouse Theater season.

As previously reported, the Readings Festival 2, running July 29-31, will include Ed Hime's The Public; Mona Mansour's The Hour of Feeling; Frank Pugliese's Matty's Place; Jennifer Robbins, Michael Biello and Dan Martin's Marry Harry; and John Patrick Shanley's Sleeping Demon.

Shanley will direct Sleeping Demon on July 29 at 8 PM. The cast includes Bob Dishy (Sly Fox, Mornings at Seven), Tony nominee Zach Grenier (33 Variations), Ron Cephas Jones (Gem of the Ocean), Jessejames Locorriere (Richard the Third), LaTanya Richardson (Joe Turner’s Come and Gone) and Jay O. Sanders (Pygmalion, Saint Joan).

The musical Marry Harry, with a book by Robbins, and music and lyrics by Biello and Martin, will be staged July 30 at 2 PM. Kent Nicholson will direct a cast including Cameron Folmar (Five by Tenn), Golden (The Full Monty, Xanadu), Melissa Hammans (Paper Cranes), Harada (9 to 5, Avenue Q), Jillian Louis (The Dinasour Musical), Susan J. Jacks (Flight of the Lawnchair Man), Andy Kelso (Mamma Mia!), Olivia Mell (Sex, Relationships, and Sometimes Love), Drama Desk winner Muñoz (In the Heights, Venice) and James Van Treuren (The Scarlet Pimpernel). Jeff Caldwell will musical direct.

Hime's The Public, directed by Jim Simpson, will be offered July 30 at 5 PM. The cast includes Tracee Chimo (Irena’s Vow, Circle Mirror Transformation), Esper (American Idiot, The Intelligent Homosexual’s Guide..., The Nightingale), Morgan Lynch (Handball), Annie McNamara (Gatz, God’s Ear), Joseph Parks (Eurydice) and Morgan Spector (A View from the Bridge).

Giovanna Sardelli will direct Mansour's The Hour of Feeling July 31 at 2 PM. Among the cast are Janis Dardaris (Becky Shaw), Jessica Dickey (The Amish Project), Ryan King (iCandy), Ryan McCarthy (After Miss Julie), Tony nominee Omar Metwally (Sixteen Wounded) and Rasha Zamamiri (Spelling Bee). The final reading on July 31 at 5 PM will be Pugliese's Matty's Place, directed by Lisa Peterson. The cast includes Breen (The Normal Heart, Next Fall), Louis Cancelmi (Blasted, Hallway Trilogy), David Eigenberg (Take Me Out, Six Degrees of Separation), Dominic Fumusa (Wait Until Dark) and Saverio Guerra (Mixed Emotions).

As previously reported, the Bert Berns musical Piece of My Heart, with a book by Daniel Goldfarb, Brett Berns and Cassandra Berns, will run July 29-31. Leigh Silverman will direct with choreography by Denis Jones and musical direction by Dave Keyes.

Set to appear are Tony Award nominee de'Adre Aziza (Passing Strange, Women on the Verge) as Candy, Kelli Barrett (Baby It’s You, The Royal Family) as Sloopy, Jenn Colella (Urban Cowboy, High Fidelity) as Jessie, Ned Eisenberg (Awake and Sing, The Green Bird) as Wazzel, Glenn Fleshler (Spring Awakening, Arcadia), Linda Hart (Catch Me If You Can, Hairspray) as Mom, Corey Antonio Hawkins (A Raisin in the Sun) as Hoagy, Manuel Herrera (West Side Story, Legally Blonde) as Carlos, Dominic Nolfi (Jersey Boys) as Young Wazzel, Jarrod Spector (Jersey Boys) as Bert, and ensemble members Rachel Stern, Teresa Gattison, Pilar Millhollen, Michael Millan and Christian Carter.
