A spokesman in Hadid's London office, however, told PlaybillArts that she is still in "competition phase" with other unnamed architects for the commission.

The spokesman was unable to give more details of Hadid's proposal. But according to the Daily News, it includes a hotel, a music school, indoor and outdoor theaters, art galleries, a ballet hall, and a jetty.

Some of Hadid's best known works include the Mind Zone at the Millennium Dome in Greenwich, London; the Vitra Fire Station in Weil am Rhein, Germany; and Tram Station and Car Park in Strasbourg, France.
