News Zanna Don't! Star Anika Larsen Featured in This Esther May 1 Anika Larsen, who portrayed Roberta in the hit Off-Broadway musical Zanna, Don't!, will be part of an evening of Janice Lowe tunes May 1.

Part of the acclaimed "Uncharted" series, the evening at the Ars Nova Theater will feature songs from Lowe's musical This Esther as well as other musical stories. Lowe and Larsen will be joined by Sean Cazades, The Jones Twins, Jonathan Portera, Sheri Sanders, Aurelia Williams and Cid Williams. Show time is 7 PM. A rock/rhythm and blues musical, This Esther, according to production notes, "is based on the biblical Book of Esther. Told as a funky Purim Carnival of Life, this is a story of hidden miracles and a brave young Jewish queen who risks her life and throne to save her people." This Esther features music by Lowe and a book and lyrics by Charles E. Drew, Jr.

Janice Lowe composed the theme for "The Kelly Bowers Show" and is the composer of the musicals Somewhere in Texas, Alice Underground, Sit-In at the Five & Dime and Lil Budda.

Anika Larsen starred Off-Broadway in Zanna, Don't!. She also appeared on Broadway in Rent as well as in that show's national tour.
