Curtains' Karen Ziemba and Drowsy Chaperone's John Glover will star in Village Wooing, and they will be joined by Grey Gardens' Matt Cavenaugh for How He Lied to Her Husband. Show time is 7 PM. Village Wooing, according to the Project Shaw website is described as "'a comediettina for two voices' in three 'conversations,' lasts less than an hour, has two characters: A and Z. A is a misanthropic author who meets Z, a country telephone operator and general store salesgirl, on a world cruise. Against his will, by reason of her common sense and persistence, she marries him when they are later thrown together in her village store."

In How He Lied to Her Husband, "Shaw sends up his own Candida in high comedic style. In the manner of a Lonsdale drawing-room comedy, we meet the glamorous wife who has determinately allowed a beautiful young man to fall in love with her. Romantic letters complete with very specific poetry has been written by the young man, given to the wife, and misplaced. Her husband is now believed to be in possession of the letters…but her husband seems to have a profoundly potent trick up his sleeve."

The Project Shaw series is produced and directed by David Staller, who acted with Dana Ivey in Shaw's Mrs. Warren's Profession at the Irish Repertory Theatre. Dates stretching throughout 2007 and beyond will provide an airing of every sketch, full-length and one-act play by the playwright.

Past participants include Blair Brown, Daniel Jenkins, Rebecca Luker, Michael Cerveris, Karen Ziemba, Michele Pawk, Bruce Vilanch, Jack Gilpin and George S. Irving.

The Players is located at 16 Gramercy Park South. For tickets, priced $15, call (212) 352-3101 beginning June 1. Visit www.projectshaw.com for more information.
