Four singer/songwriters — Caren Cole, Peter Eldridge, Dan Lipton and Rosemary Loar — will each present a set of their own compositions. And, each set will include one torch song performed by a different Broadway performer. Among the theatre stars lined up for the 8 PM evening are Tony winner Karen Ziemba, Mamma Mia!'s Judy McLane, Opening Doors' Kate Baldwin and Bombay Dreams' Ian Jutsun. Composer Loar will host the evening, which also includes a five-piece rock band comprising Jim Abbott (keyboards), Gary Seligson (drums), Leo Huppert (bass), Matt Beck (guitar) and Emily Mikesell (violin/back-up vocals).

"Alternative Torch" will be held in the Leonard Nimoy Thalia Theatre at Symphony Space, 2537 Broadway at 95th Street. Tickets, priced at $25 ($22 for members/seniors and $15 for students), are available by calling (212) 864-5400. Visit www.symphonyspace.org for more information.
