Animals and Plants, Adam Rapp's new comedy about two rank-and file drug traffickers who find themselves on a deadline while "snowbound in a cheap motel room in Boone, North Carolina," receives its world premiere at the American Repertory Theatre in Cambridge, MA, on March 30. The show opens April 1 and runs at the Hasty Pudding Theatre through April 15.
Scott Zigler helms this "comic facade of buddies bonding in a blizzard" which explores a "friendship threatened by betrayal."
The cast for the show includes A.R.T. company members Benjamin Evett and Will LeBow, as well as A.R.T. Institute actor Frances Chewning.
The creative team comprises set designer J. Michael Griggs, costume designer Jane Stein, lighting designer John Ambrosone and sound designer David Remedios.
The recipient of numerous awards, playwright Rapp's other works include Nocturne, Trueblinka, Ghosts in the Cottonwoods and Finer Noble Gases. Tickets are $25 and $35. Tickets are available by calling (617) 547-8300.
