MacLachlan, an Atlantic ensemble member, will make his Off-Broadway playwriting debut with Good Television, which exposes the extremity of modern television drama. Previews will begin previews May 22 prior to a June 4 opening for a limited engagement through June 16.

Directed by Bob Krakower, the cast will feature Talia Balsam ("Mad Men," "Homeland"), Jessica Cummings (The Seagull, Crimes of the Heart), John Magaro (Tigers Be Still), Kelly McAndrew (Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, Still Life), Zoe Perry (The Other Place), Luke Robertson ("The Good Wife"), Andrew Stewart-Jones ("Dead Man Down," "Golden Boy") and Ned Van Zandt (The Iceman Cometh).

"Connie is an intervention counselor and producer on a reality television series which profiles people suffering from addiction," according to press notes. "Against her better judgment, her superiors convince her to take on a special, risky case in the hopes of making a riveting, explosive episode. When Connie and her colleagues travel to South Carolina to interview a young meth addict and his family, Connie’s own demons resurface and the 'explosive episode' threatens to blow up in her face."
