Zoe Wanamaker and Liev Schreiber will claim their 1998 Joe Callaway Awards on Jan. 8, 1999. The prizes are given out annually by Actors' Equity and honor the best performances in a classic play, and carry a $1,000 cash prize. Wanamaker won for Electra , currently playing to sold-out crowds on Broadway. Wanamaker is stage veteran with dozens of classical roles under her belt. She won an Olivier award in London for her performance as Electra.
Schreiber won for his turn in the Public Theatre's Cymbeline . Schreiber is primarily known for his recent film roles, including "Ransom," "Daytrippers" and "Scream."
