| Full given name: | Nicholas Caires Spangler |
| Hometown: | Los Altos, CA |
| Zodiac sign: | Taurus |
| Audition song: | "If I Loved You" from Carousel or "Stay" from Do I Hear a Waltz. Gimme the classics! |
| Special skills: | All random stuff I've learned from being in shows: walking on my hands, lasso tricks, juggling (that's a new one thanks to The Fantasticks). |
| First Broadway show ever saw: | Titanic. Say what you will, I dug a lot of the music. |
| If you could go back in time and catch any Broadway show, what would it be? | The original West Side Story. I'm stoked for the revival, but I'd give anything to see that show come to life for the first time. |
| Current show you have been recommending to friends: | In the Heights. Ever since their performance of "Tradition" at the Easter Bonnet Competition last year, I've been obsessed. |
| Favorite show tune: | "My Funny Valentine." I've got at least 12 versions of it on my iTunes so I can listen to it for hours. |
| MAC or PC? | I've been a MAC man since forever! Our family got one of the original beige ones. Dark Castle was the coolest thing I'd ever seen. |
| Most played song on your iPod: | "Such Great Heights" by The Postal Service |
| Last book you read: | "The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier and Clay" by Michael Chabon |
| Must-see TV show: | "Pushing Daisies" |
| Last good movie you saw: | "Slumdog Millionaire" |
| Performer you would drop everything to go see: | Alan Rickman. Seeing him in Private Lives was basically the height of my theatergoing experience. |
| Pop culture guilty pleasure: | "The Amazing Race"! |
| First stage kiss: | My friend Ashley Barrett when I was Prince Charming in Cinderella in junior high. One performance she whispered to me (while onstage) that she was sick and I should just kiss her hand. When I went in for a smooch, she forced her hand up in front of my face. |
| Favorite post-show meal: | An 11 o'clock bowl of Special K and a DVR'd episode of "The Simpsons." |
| How you got your Equity card: | A production of The Fantasticks at The Gateway Playhouse on Long Island. It not only gave me my card, but I met the late Bobby Oliver who was responsible for getting me seen for the Off-Broadway production. |
| Worst missed cue: | I was nine years old and playing Winthrop Paroo in The Music Man. I was playing poker in my dressing room when the stage manager burst in and screamed that I had missed my cue. I had to run up some stairs and perform "Gary Indiana" completely out of breath. |
| Worst costume ever: | I did a production of West Side Story at The Forestburgh Playhouse Upstate and for some reason they decided to design the costumes as "Punk" vs. "Hip Hop." So I did the show wearing huge sagging jeans and a neon green sleeveless shirt. (Yikes.) |
| Who would play you in the movie? | Kevin Bacon – so that 26 years later they could remake it with Zac Efron. |
| Worst job you ever had: | A smoothie maker at Jamba Juice in California. So many drinks…so few ingredients. |
| TV or commercial gig you most enjoyed: | A Jell-o commercial I did when I was a kid. I got to spend the day smiling through an orange film of Jell-o. |
| Leading man role you've been dying to play: | Billy Bigelow in Carousel. |
