ALAN MENKEN  composed the score for Beauty and the Beast, which recently closed after a fantastic 13 years on Broadway. His other stage work includes God Bless You, Mr. Rosewater; Real Life Funnies; Little Shop of Horrors; The Apprenticeship of Duddy Kravitz; Weird Romance; A Christmas Carol; King David; and Der Glöckner Von Notre Dame. As a film composer, Alan composed the songs and underscores for The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, Pocahontas, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Hercules, Life With Mikey, Home on the Range Noel and the current smash-hit film Enchanted, as well as the songs for Little Shop of Horrors and Newsies. In addition to winning eight Oscars®, he’s been nominated 14 times, has won seven Golden Globes, ten GRAMMY® Awards, the London Evening Standard Award, the Olivier, New York Drama Critics Award, Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle Awards. His other achievements include Billboard’s #1 album (Pocahontas) and #1 single (“A Whole New World”). Upcoming projects include stage versions of Leap of Faith and Sister Act.
