PAUL NICHOLAS
PAUL NICHOLAS is one of the UK’s leading actors. His theatrical career began in 1969 as Claude in Tom O’Horgan’s original London production of Hair. He created the roles of Jesus and Danny in the original London productions of Jesus Christ Superstar and Grease and was invited by Andrew Lloyd Webber to take part in the original workshop of Cats and originate the part of Rum Tum Tugger. His venture into pop singing gave him numerous UK hits as well as a top five on the Billboard Top 100 with Heaven on the Seventh Floor. Paul became a household name with his role as Vince in the BBC television series “Just Good Friends.” In 1992 he formed a production company with David Ian, and they have been responsible for several productions including Jesus Christ Superstar, The Rocky Horror Show, Chess, Evita, Singin’ in the Rain, Saturday Night Fever, Ain’t Misbehavin’ and Grease. Paul was the acting coach on the UK search for Danny and Sandy in “Grease Is the Word” produced by Simon Cowell.
