JAMES HAMMERSTEIN (Producer). I Love You... is the second revue with which Mr. Hammerstein was involved. The first, Tuscaloosa's Calling Me, But I'm Not Going, was also presented at the Westside Theatre. Although known principally as a director, he produced both on Broadway and Off and wrote both book and lyrics for several projects. His Broadway directing credits included State Fair, The Sound of Music (NYC Opera), Butley, Wise Child, The Paisley Convertible, and Absence of a Cello. In London's West End, he directed the Cameron Mackintosh production of Oklahoma!, as well as Damn Yankees, The King and I, and Harold Pinter's one-acters Tea Party and The Basement. He was a member and past President of the Society of Stage Directors & Choreographers and Chairman of the Board of Directors.
