JOHN McCOLGAN
JOHN McCOLGAN is the co-producer and director of Riverdance, the worldwide acclaimed dance phenomenon. He is a former head of entertainment at RTÉ (Ireland’s national broadcasting service); chairman of Today FM (Ireland’s national independent radio station); served on the board of the Abbey Theatre for five years; and directed the critically acclaimed smash hit production of the 19th century melodrama The Shaughraun at the Abbey. John produced, with Moya Doherty, Boublil & Schönberg’s musical The PirateQueen. He has received many awards including an Honorary Doctorate of Law from the National University of Ireland in recognition of his services to the arts and entertainment industry.
